  4. Pump Wavelength.
  5. Booster, in-line and preamplifier.

 Exercise 2: Explain the basic of operating principles, with schematics,behind:

  1. Semiconductor Optical Amplifier (SOA);
  2. Raman Amplifiers (RA);
  3. Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA)

 

Exercise 3: Compare the strength and drawbacks between the above amplifiers.
