The required course assignments listed below are all submitted to MyCourses, but notice that some also include a step where you must bring or prepare material for discussion in class. The assignment-specific materials for completing each one is available in connection with the assignment instructions and submission boxes.

You will receive teacher feedback on one written preparatory assignment (through Emended) and the presentation outline.  In addition, you will receive feedback from your co-students. Throughout the course, you are expected to make corrections and develop your work further throughout the course, based on the feedback and topics covered during the course.       

Deadlines
The preparatory assignments progress step-by-step towards the final version of the written report and the presentation, so staying on schedule is extremely important! The deadlines for the assignments, homework and online modules are normally by the beginning of the day's lecture. Two assignment have earlier deadlines: A5, the presentation outline, and A7 (self-evaluation of the rehearsal).

WRITTEN COMPONENT
The written component of this course consists of four preparatory assignments developed into a final recommendation report, four independently completed online modules, and an exam. The 
final report is a recommendation of a solution from your field of study to a specific need or problem.

Assignments 1-3:
-   A1, Pre-course assignment: find problems and identify solutions in your field of study
. (5 points)
-   A2, write the Introduction paragraph for the recommendation report (problem-solution). (5 points)
-   A3, the Definition of the recommended solution
(introduction, 2A, included) (5 points)
-   A4,  First draft of the full recommendation report (5 points)

Online modules 1-4:
The four mandatory online modules
 on readability principles will be completed online, independently. and by the given deadline. The exam is mainly based on these modules.

-   Module 1: Style and Form (formal grammar and vocabulary)
-   Module 2: Avoiding weak verbs
-   Module 3: Given-New Principle
-   Module 4: Light-Before-Heavy Principle

FINAL REPORT and EXAM:

Exam. Based mainly on the Online modules 1-4. (10 points)
Final report: A Recommendation (30 points)

ORAL COMPONENT
Preparatory assignments A5-A7 lead to the final oral presentation delivered in Zoom to a small audience. The presentation will be based on your written work, the recommendation.

-   A6, Rehearsal with slides
(5 points, video-recorded)
-   A7 Self-evaluation

Final presentation 
Presentation (8-10 min). This presentation will be video-recorded (20 points)
