    *Note! Only a limited amount of students is accepted into this course. Course will have 4-5 real-life project cases and average 5 students are accepted in each project team. Call for applications will be announced in September 2018 in this MyCourses course page. Selection is based on motivation letter and suitability of your field of study to the project. Those with prerequisite courses or relevant similar background have priority. All Master's and PhD students from Aalto are eligible to apply. Through JOO-agreement also students from other Finnish universities can apply.

    Students will have to be able to travel during the course. In principle travel is at student's own cost. Some of the projects may have external funding. However, students are encouraged to apply travel grants and sponsors as part of their course assignments. Two week field trips are usually organized in period III or IV.

    Teaching times will vary during spring semester. Joint weekly meetings apply only in the beginning of the course (Jan).

    Prerequisite courses are highly recommended and give priority in selection process:

    • WAT-E3020 State of the world and development (2 cr)
    • WAT-E2060 Sustainable Built Environment (5 cr)
