Learning Outcomes (valid 01.08.2018-31.07.2020): 

Student learns to communicate the basic technology, design and business aspects of a product.

Content (valid 01.08.2018-31.07.2020): 

Students work in interdisciplinary teams. Each team is assigned a product that is analyzed from the perspectives of design, business, and engineering. The analysis is supported with lectures and workshops related to manufacturing techniques, materials, services, users, etc. The outcome of the analysis is presented in a final gala.

Assessment Methods and Criteria (valid 01.08.2018-31.07.2020): 

Assessment is based on the depth and richness of the product analysis, clarity of the presentations, quality of the teamwork, as well as participation and activity during lectures and workshops.

Elaboration of the evaluation criteria and methods, and acquainting students with the evaluation (applies in this implementation): 

Evaluation

Teams are evaluated by 

• final presentation and report  1/2
• sub-assignments during the course 1/2

Individual evaluation is based on teams grade

• personal tasks 
• peer and self evaluation can rise or higher up to one grade
• Attendance: after 2 absence missing lectures will effect to grade. (6 absences =fail)

The course is one of Aaltonaut minor core course and all Bachelor’s level students can participate. Aaltonaut students can conduct integrated language and communication studies in English (3–6 cr) during the course.
