After passing the course:

-the student can describe the technologies of CAD, GIS, BIM and FEM models

-the student can identify the similarities and differences in the theories behind the various models

-the student can describe the data models used in different implementations

-the student can apply CAD,GIS BIM and FEM software to various applications

-the student can analyse the difficulties of data transfer between different systems and software and find the best solution.

Innehåll (är i kraft 01.08.2018-31.07.2020): 

This course introduces various approaches for modeling physical objects and phenomena in engineering applications. CAD-, GIS-, BIM-, and FEM-models are used in various fields and disciplines. The course covers their theoretical backgrounds, computer implementations and application fields. Integration of the models is dealt with both on technical interface level and from the functional point of view.
