Tilläggsinformation om kursen (gäller denna kursomgång):

The course is rather intensive and your presence in meetings is required. Also, as most of the course work is conducted in groups, it is important that each member of the group takes responsibility of providing an active and supportive engagement to enable learning for themselves and the group.

--

The course is compulsory for students
of Spatial Planning and Transportation Engineering and Creative Sustainability
master’s programs. The course gives both 1) a holistic understanding of
sustainability challengs of the living environment and 2) an array of conceptual
systems thinking tools for creative problem solving.

For students in Creative Sustainability,
systems thinking is a key approach for working in transitions to
sustainability. In this course, students learn to use systemic thinking for
creative problem solving and for holistic understanding of complexity of the
living environment. The course is a part of the ”compulsory joint CS studies”,
and among the five courses that all CS master’s students of the four
departments study together (CS architecture, built environment, business,
design).

For students of Spatial Planning and
Transportation Engineering, systems thinking and creative problem-solving are
key skills needed to work for smarter and more liveable cities and to respond
to emerging challenges brought on by constantly changing built environments and
technologies. This course is among the ”common studies”, which consist of seven
compulsory courses that form the foundation of the spatial planning and
transportation engineering studies.
