Osaamistavoitteet (voimassa 01.08.2018-31.07.2020):
Through the seminar, the student learns to apply the principles of scientific work to his/her own Master's Thesis. (S)he is able to write and orally present his/her own Thesis in its different phases. The student can evaluate other Master's Theses, to discuss research and to give and receive feedback about scientific work.
Sisältö (voimassa 01.08.2018-31.07.2020):
The seminar supports the thesis writing of the student throughout his/her Master's Thesis process. The introductory lecture deals with scientific reasoning, research approaches and methods, and the structure of a scientific report. In the seminar sessions, the student gives four presentations concerning: 1) the evaluation of a finished Master's Thesis 2) the research plan of own Master's Thesis 3) the intermediate version of the Thesis and a peer-review of another student's intermediate version, and 4) the final Thesis (the official Master's Thesis presentation). To take the more extensive 2 cr seminar, the student writes a research diary about the advancement of his/her thesis work during the seminar process.

Only for the students of the Master's Programmes of Information Networks and Industrial Engineering and Management. The student registers him/herself to the course by attending the seminar session plan his/her Master's Thesis.
Lisätietoja (voimassa 01.08.2018-31.07.2020):
Seminar sessions are organized throughout the whole academic year. In the first sessions of the autumn and spring terms, and on demand also at other times, and introductory lecture is held.The student starts the course when his/her Master's Thesis work starts, and ends the course by giving the offical Master's thesis presentation.
