- Expanding knowledge of basic grammar (the perfect and past perfect tenses, locative cases, possessive suffixes)
- Expanding vocabulary needed for running errands, studying or working.
- Practising spoken language needed in everyday and formal contexts when running errands.
- Enhancing cultural knowledge (celebrations and customs) and related vocabulary.

Written examination. In addition, passing the course requires regular attendance (max. two absences allowed), active participation in class and completion of the given homework. The weight given to the various assignments in the final evaluation is specified at the start of the course.
