CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    Students will be introduced to wood materials, hand tools and wood working machines, and shown how to use them safely. Students will be introduced to metal working, in particular construction techniques using welding and other power tools and methods. Students will create a sculpture combining wood, metal and other materials using construction techniques.

  • Applies in this implementation:

    At the course the students will make one or several sculptures or installation  according to the given assignment using wood and/or metal as material.

    The work is done in the workshops: metal, wood and multimateria workshop. Workshop masters help you carry out you tasks every day according to the opening hours of the workshops. Some special arrangements need to be made in taking turns at the workshops so that everyone gets equally working time due to the Covid19 situation.

    In the beginning of the course there will be mandatory workshop courses in the wood workshop and the metal workshop. Without passing such a course you will not be able to work at the workshops and it is only possible to pass such a course in the beginning of our course (WOM2).

Assessment Methods and Criteria
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    Individual and small group discussion and critique. Active participation in classwork. Successful completion of own project.

  • Applies in this implementation:

    Evaluation is based on

    • the personal development in the techniques  taking into account the starting level of the student
    • ability to express ones ideas and emotion in the art work
    • activity on the course

Workload
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    3 weeks intensive course. Students are expected to be present during all contact teaching (76 hrs), as well as to work independently in the workshops on other days.

  • Applies in this implementation:

    This is an intensive course of three weeks 01.03.2021 -19.03.2021. The workload is 7 hours each day 9.15-17.00.  Students should be present minimum 80 % to pass the course.
