LEARNING OUTCOMES

After successfully completing this course, students should be able to design both digitally printed and screen printed fabrics on an assignment involving individual artistic expression. They should understand the principles of most commonly used textile dyes, and their relation to textile raw materials, especially cellulose materials. They should be familiar with responsible production of printed fabrics and safe and sustainable working methods in the printing workshop.

    Learning activities: Lectures, design of printed fabrics and realization of designs in printing workshop, documentation of the processes and methods used, critic session on the last contact teaching day

    Design assignment: collection of printed fabrics including product cards

Assessment Methods and Criteria
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    Grounds for evaluation: participation and design assignment

    Grounds for evaluation of design assignment: creativity of the samples, artistic expression, use and documentation of printing and dying methods, use of color and material, surface design: rhythm and composition, coordination of the collection.
