Content
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    1. Academic Skills
    This part of the course aims at developing general learning skills necessary for success in Finland and in academic community at Aalto University. You will learn about adjustment issues and cultural differences in educational settings. You will learn how to improve your intercultural communication skills to be able to collaborate beyond cultural and disciplinary borders. You will get an insight to Finnish academic culture including academic integrity, code of conduct, important policies and principles of scientific research.

    2. Career and Working Life Skills
    You will get important tips for the Master s thesis work, intro-ductions to employment process in Finland, career development planning and academic entrepreneurship. You will get the right tools to be prepared for your future career in Finland.

    General information for both parts
    The course consists of lectures, active workshops, discussions, assignments, field visits and other activities all designed to provide students with comprehensive insights that will help iden-tify and strengthen the skills and knowledge needed to achieve and have a positive study experience at Aalto University.
