On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Work and experiment with shaders, lights, textures, masks in Maya
  • Render a project using render/image layers in Maya
  • Start developing their own visual style for a 3D project

CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content

    The workshop focuses on non-photorealistic rendering, not on realistic rendering.

    Tips and tricks and examples about shaders, textures, masks and lights will be presented.

Assessment Methods and Criteria
  • valid for whole curriculum period:

    Roughly (less than) two days of examples and hands-on, the rest of the time working on your own.
    To get full credits from the workshop student needs to develop a visual style and render (+ composite) an animated scene prepared by the teach

Workload

    The workshop has detailed lectures and examples of some selected techniques, lots of hands-on training and working on your own.
