    ASSIGNMENT - TEHTÄVÄ

Rakkaudesta materiaaliin/ Love Letter to Material

Jos kaikki on mahdollista, on helppo eksyä. Kurssilla luomme itsellemme rajoituksia, dogman, joka määrittelee teossarjan visuaalista lopputulosta. Annamme valitun materiaalin johdatella. Puntaroimme kädenjäljen merkitystä suhteessa autenttisuuteen.

Kurssilla tehdään kolme variaatiota samasta teoksesta hieman erilaisin painotuksin.

If anything is possible, it’s easy to get lost. During the course we set ourself boundaries, a dogma that defines the visual outcome for series of artworks. We let the material dictate. We dive into the questions of authenticity and embrace the craft and mistakes we make.

During the course we will make three variations of the same artwork with slightly different accents. Even thou the field of sculpture has expanded to space and time, we stick to objects concentrating on choosing the right materials and learning the best ways to use them. Teachers strongest expertise is in various ways of using wood, but we will also get to know metal, particularly steel as a sculpture material.
