Content

This course is designed for Visual Communication Students and students from Non-technical and Programming background. Hence, the course will deal with fundamentals and advance aspects of computation for Information design and Data Visualisation.
The students learn the process of Data collection, Pre-Processing, transforming, filtering and analysis of data by applying statistical approaches. Students will learn tools for data collection and scraping from the internet. Ethical practice in data collection process.
In this course, students will learn hands-on programming for various stages of interactive information design and Data Visualisation. Students will learn and practice data visualization Javascript-based Data-Driven Document Libraries (D3.js) and other visualisation related web technologies. Students will learn to collect, structure, filter, analyze, represent of using open-source data, web scraping libraries, and scripts to collect data.
This course is trans-disciplinary and hence invites students from all disciplines who have a strong interest and wants to develop a specialisation in Information Design and data visualisation.
