Content

In this course, students choose between a number of modules to create an individualised path for developing their writing and spoken skills for art, design, and architecture. S
tudents work on a particular project or idea of their choosing which forms the basis of all the tasks in the course.
This course goes through the stages of generating and developing ideas, exploring points of views, researching, revising, structuring, and co-editing text.
The course may include elements of both creative and academic or professional writing, such as applications, analyses, and artist/designer statements.
The initial spoken exercises develop the student s knowledge and opinions on the project or idea.
The course continues by introducing formal text structure as well as cohesion and coherence.
Throughout the course, students collaborate with their peers through brainstorming, sharing ideas, developing argumentation, critiquing each other s writing, and giving feedback.

This course fulfills the mandatory foreign language requirement for ARTS Bachelor studies with both written skills (w) and oral skills (o).
This course replaces LCA-1008 Writing in Art, Design & Architecture.
Please note that the course will be organised if a minimum of 10 people register for it.
