LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the course student will be able to:

-  elaborate on an imaginative idea.

-  elaborate and combining ideas to create a consistent imaginary world,

            and how to present this world via visual, auditory, and other examples.

- Work with others to research and clearly communicate the content, context, and process of their work

- Identify skills needed to boldly bring forth personal perspective on artistic collaboration as a whole

- Propose activities according to own interests and talents

- Develop critical and analytical knowledge for understanding the visual and conceptual structures

Content

    The art and craft of worldbuilding has many useful applications for writers and designers. This course gives inspiration on how to experiment on developing and combining ideas to create a consistent imaginary world, and how to present this world via visual, auditory, and other examples. During the course students are encouraged to learn new ways of collaboration that can break traditional boundaries between disciplines.

Assessment Methods and Criteria

    Osallistuminen luennoille, yhteisiin harjoituksiin ja ryhmässä annettavaan palautteeseen. Opintojakson hyväksytty suorittaminen edellyttää aktiivista läsnäoloa ja annettujen tehtävien suorittamista, opettajan antamaan määräaikaan mennessä. Sairaudesta tai muusta vakavasta syystä johtuvasta poissaolosta pyydetään sähköpostitse ilmoittamaan ensisijaisesti sille opettajalle, jonka opetuskerralta on poissa (tai, jos tämä ei ole tavoitettavissa, ryhmän vastuuopettajalle). Korvaavuudesta neuvotellaan tapauskohtaisesti vastuuopettajan kanssa.
