The student can apply the theory for analysis, and modelling of various mass transfer processes and phenomena in technology and nature.

Content

Fundamentals of diffusion in gas phase, liquid phase and in porous materials. Stefan flow and Knudsen's diffusion in micropores. Differential equations of mass transfer. Analogy between heat and mass transfer. Forced and natural convection mass transfer. Membrane transport. Applications to heat recovery, cooling systems, drying and separation with membranes.
