CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content

    In this course, students evaluate and reflect on their learning achievements during the first academic year and identify and decide on socially and environmentally relevant themes for their forthcoming study contents for the following year. The working modes in the course include lectures, reading assignments, workshops, visual design assignments, self-reflective assignments and design reviews dealing with visual communication design, personal learning achievements, responsibility and impacts of design. The evaluation and theme setting is organized through a collaborative process supported by various information visualization techniques.

Assessment Methods and Criteria

    The final grade for the course is based students attendance and participation in the contact teaching (20%) as well as the quality of their poster assignments (50%) and reflection assignments (30%). The criteria for assessment include depth and level of justifications of design insights, communication skills and timely submission.

    The total workload for the course amounts to 81 hours (I ECTS credits = 27 hours).
