Please note! Course description is confirmed for two academic years, which means that in general, e.g. Learning outcomes, assessment methods and key content stays unchanged. However, via course syllabus, it is possible to specify or change the course execution in each realization of the course, such as how the contact sessions are organized, assessment methods weighted or materials used.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Taking this course will give you the opportunity to study applications of fiber optics and laser technology.

The main part is a research project related to fiber lasers, supercontinuum generation or fiber sensors for which the student returns a report and gives a presentation.

You may choose to work with the simulation tool RP Fiber Power from RP Photonics to understand the operation of a high-power fiber amplifier or laser or to work in an optics lab.
