CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content

    The emphasis of the course is methodological and supports curiosity towards the systemic complexities and uncertainties as intrinsic features of planning all the way from the conceptualization of strategic aims to their interpretation in the 3D living environment. The course explores planetary liveability and resilience of cities with the help of visual-analytical methods and ICT-enabled tools.

    Students will work both individually and in small groups in cooperation with professionals in the field. The selection of lectures offers a diversity of insights into the overall theme.

Assessment Methods and Criteria

    The course is passed when the student has conducted the given individual and group assignments. 80 % participation in the in-person collaborative work is obligatory.

    Registration for courses will take place on Sisu (sisu.aalto.fi). Max 15-20 students. Students from various Master's programmes (land use planning and transportation engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, real estate business, energy engineering, geo-informatics or other relevant master's programs) are welcomed. Priority will be given to students in the Master's Programme in Spatial Planning and Transportation Engineering.
