    The Practice Research workshop course focuses on artistic and research methodologies to help students combine practical and research aspects in their artistic work. This course emphasizes students’ working methods and routines (i.e. the working process) over the results of such processes (i.e. the product) This course understands class as a workshop space, in which students will explore, develop, share and comment their ideas as a community of filmmakers.  The course will explore diverse approaches to artistic research through a variety of thematic features, techniques and workshops. The course will help students to develop their own directorial voice and expression, as well as experiencing to work on less familiar approaches.  

Assessment Methods and Criteria

    Active participation, lectures, workshop work and the completion of course assignments.  

Workload
  • valid for whole curriculum period:

    Lectures (ratio 1:1): 82,5 hours.
    Independent Studies/Workshop (ratio 1:2): 79,5 hours.

    Total: 162 hours.

    At least 80% participation in face-to-face teaching is mandatory to complete the course. If, due to absences, the student does not achieve the learning outcomes defined in the course description, the remaining 20% may have to be compensated as determined by the responsible teachers of the course.

    All absences must be reported to the teachers in charge. The responsible teachers of the course will specify the necessary compensating assignments.
