LEARNING OUTCOMES
The student understands the significance of co-productions when developing, financing, producing, making and distributing an audiovisual project. The student is familiar with key terminology and principles and will be able to plan a strategy for financing and realizing a co-production, for looking for partners to team up with and ton work in one both for scripted content and for documentaries.
The student is familiar with how the work and responsibilities may be divided between the delegate producer and the minority co-producer in both the Nordic and European context.
The student is familiar with packacing a project together with the creative team, in presenting it to potential partners and with pitching the project.

Content

The priciples and reasons behind international co-productions. Different types of structures and partners. The interests of the parties involved. How to find the right partners, to manage the schedule and make it work. The impact of a co-production to content and crew. Co-production markets. Financing plan, contractual framework between the producers, case examples of international co-productions. Majority and minority co-productions.
Assessment Methods and Criteria

Approved performance is sufficient participation in discussions to ensure that the teaching content is learned.
Workload

Contact teaching 62 h, independent work 100 h.
Lectures, guests, individual and group assignments. Material to be studied independently.
At least 80% participation in face-to-face teaching is mandatory to complete the course. If, due to absences, the student does not achieve the learning outcomes defined in the course description, the remaining 20% may have to be compensated as determined by the responsible teachers of the course.
All absences must be reported to the teachers in charge. The responsible teachers of the course will specify the necessary compensating assignments.
