CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD
Content
valid for whole curriculum period:
The student gets a thorough introduction to sound art's different genres and sub-fields, where ambient sounds are used as a starting point. The course explores ambient sounds in sound art and electronic music. During the lecture part, using audio examples, students will learn about the field's history, aesthetics, and present-day phenomena. During the two-week workshop, a sound work will be produced either alone or in small groups, and students and teacher meet regularly to discuss the progress of the sound works. The course unit, which focuses on soundscape and acoustic ecology, provides students with the tools to critically examine the environment and the relationships between individuals and communities built through sound.
