- After the course, you have the skills needed to introduce yourself or someone else and to use simple greeting or parting phrases.
- You understand numbers, prices and times, are able to talk about where you live or describe your normal day using simple language, and you know the language needed to buy basic things or order something at a restaurant or café.
- The course equips the students with the basic Swedish skills needed in simple everyday communicative situations.

Content

- Communication exercises with discussion of work, studies, family and language skills.
- You will learn to give your address and phone number in Swedish.
- You will practice using greeting and parting phrases.
- The course also teaches the alphabet, numerals, expressions of time, verbs, word order, pronouns, interrogatives and nouns.
Assessment Methods and Criteria

o Written test 30% o Oral test 30% o Active participation, and writing and oral assignments completed during the course (40%).Continuos assessment.

Further Information

- A basic course for international or Finnish students with no previous studies in Swedish.
- The course does not fulfill the National Language Requirement (Swedish) or replace the test for it, nor is it intended as a preparatory course for the National Language Requirement Test.
- English is used as a supplementary language for teaching in the course.
Please note that the course will only be organised if at least 10 students register for it.
