LEARNING OUTCOMES
After completing the course, the student will understand the basics of simulation-based design and is able to utilize computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools in mechanical engineering. The student is able to utilize simulation tools, such as multi-body simulation and finite element method in the mechanism design.

Content

The process of machine design including study of existing solutions, mechanism design including kinematic, dynamic, and strength analysis, dimensioning and choosing of machine elements and power transmission components. Utilization of computer-aided design (CAD) and engineering (CAE) software Siemens NX.
