Please note! Course description is confirmed for two academic years, which means that in general, e.g. Learning outcomes, assessment methods and key content stays unchanged. However, via course syllabus, it is possible to specify or change the course execution in each realization of the course, such as how the contact sessions are organized, assessment methods weighted or materials used.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

1) Understanding of the structural behavior of solid timber and engineered wood products
2) Understanding the principles for the design of beam type elements (cross-sections subjected to stresses, stability of members, serviceability limits, fire exposure)
3) Understanding the principles for the design of connections with metal type fasteners
4) Ability to design standard beam type elements
5) Ability to design connections with metal type fasteners
