CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content

    Theory, Art and Artistic Practices 1 provides students with a basic understanding of practice-led research, research through artistic practices and makers’ theories. Students will familiarize with critical perspectives related to the film medium and some of its conventions. Students will be encouraged to critically reflect upon their own practice and start identifying areas of interest for their MA thesis work.

     

Assessment Methods and Criteria

    Completion of the course requires active participation in class activities and completion of an essay assignment.

Workload
  • valid for whole curriculum period:

    At least 80% participation in face-to-face teaching is mandatory to complete the course. If, due to absences, the student does not achieve the learning outcomes defined in the course description, the remaining 20% may have to be compensated as determined by the responsible teachers of the course. All absences must be reported to the teachers in charge. The responsible teachers of the course will specify the necessary compensating assignments.

    The course will be delivered through lectures by faculty and visitors, film screenings, independent study and discussions.

    Student´s own or group work and student´s own processing  (1:2) = 26,5 hours (max)
