LEARNING OUTCOMES

The objective of the course is to develop student’s ability to:

  • Analyze Financial Statements for Value Generation: Focus on practical analysis of real-world financial statements to understand how they reflect a company's operational efficiency and market position for value generation.
  • Learn Firm Valuation Techniques and Value Determinants: Explore various valuation models to understand the factors that influence a firm's value and financial health.
  • Conduct Financial Analysis for Strategic Decision-Making: Develop skills in using financial data and analysis to support and guide strategic business decisions and planning.
  • Apply Performance Management Frameworks for Strategy Implementation: Learn to utilize different performance management models and frameworks to effectively implement strategies and ensure organizational alignment.

Students will develop soft skills around group work, problem-solving, and presentation during the course.

    This course will review essential theories, concepts, and tools of financial management and cover the issues from three angles:

    • Exploring performance management frameworks used by organizations to implement strategy and achieve alignment.
    • Delving into the fundamentals of business through ratio analysis, firm valuation, and understanding value drivers.
    • Applying capital budgeting and costing techniques to facilitate sound financial decision-making.
