CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD
Content
valid for whole curriculum period:
This pilot course consists of the attendance of a minimum number of "ELLIS Distinguished lectures" or talks of similar nature, picked from a list we compile from seminars and presentations organized by the CS research labs. The students will need to complete a written assignment for each lecture to deepen and showcase their understanding. The class is aimed towards all students within CS and this is reflected in both the selected lectures and the assignment.
Attending ELLIS lectures, or others from visiting researchers, and completing related assignments will provide a unique opportunity to see the application of knowledge and expertise obtained during their studies. It will also expose the students to state-of-the-art research from various topics in CS, enabling them to 'dip their toes' in different potential future (research) directions.
