The course first, introduces what service design is and what are its principles. Different service design tools are introduced via design process and tested in practical exercises. Co-design principle is presented in more detail and practiced. Second, the importance of meaning and customer experiences are studied and experienced. Third, service design prototyping is carried out at the workshop thought revising all service design principles. Finally, learnings from the course are visualized in a service design manner.
A redesign of sustainability services is a red thread of this service design (SD) course. Sustainability theme was selected due to limited recourses, climate change and urgency to reduce our consumption. This SD course starts with a discussion on what the SD is and what are its possible future developments. Secondly, it presents the essential SD tools and stages of the design process, where we can utilize these tools. Then, the course studies meanings, user experiences and the value of co-creation. Lastly, different SD tools are adopted and tested in the co-design workshop.
