It takes a relatively long time for scientific information to be published as basic literature of a certain field of science. Books often represent a good overall view of certain field and its various research interests and areas. The text books used at Aalto University are selected by prestigious experts of particular fields. The printed books which belong to the Learning Centre’s collection are browsable through Aalto-Finna. Also the electronic books can be found and retrieved through Aalto-Finna or AaltoReader. (See more information about using e-books: E-book guide)
The properly used conventions of scientific communication are a very important part of scientific theses. Citation management and a properly made bibliography are amongst the most important of these conventions (see the Learning Centre's instructions about making a bibliography). It is in your own interest to get familiar with these conventions.
