  • Assignments

    Doing and returning exercises is optional but highly recommended for those wanting to learn. No exercise points are required to take the exam but you can compensate for maximum of 20 % of exam points with completed exercises. There  is a threshold of 10 % of assignment points; total points exceeding this threshold will (after appropriate scaling) contribute to compensation points in the exam.  

    Instructions: Assignments are uploaded here each Wednesday. Solutions are to be returned by the time of the next lecture on the following Wednesday. You can either return the exercises in the beginning of the lecture or upload scanned pdf's in appropriate assignment boxes.

    Please note! It is perfectly okay and even recommendable to use software for checking the plots you need to draw in your assignments. And you can even use computer-generated plots. Bear in mind, however, that just plotting the solutions is not enough. You must indicate what's in it and show, for example by calculations, that you know how to get it done without a computer. This you must do in the exam, anyway, so "it's all for your own good", as the saying goes.

    Sketches of solutions to the assignments will be uploaded here after the submission deadline.

    Note! If you wish to have the model solutions also when you do not return your own solutions for grading, please send an e-mail to the assistant of the course. (This, of course, means you cannot return solutions of these particular assignments for grading in the coming years.)
