    Napapiirin sankarit - The Lappland Odyssey



    This lesson is about getting acquainted with (a fictive depiction of) of Lapland, the northern part of Finland, which makes almost the half of the land area of FInland - but only has some 3,2 % of our population.


    As an absurd comedy, Lapland Odyssey obviously exaggerates whatever it finds laughable about the people and their lifestyle up north, but it also manages to illustrate some opposites of Finnish society quite well. This also paves way for our next lecture. See the pre-task below!
