    How to pass this course:

    You are expected to:

    -Attend the lectures and be active - not compulsory, no points, but highly recommended.

    -Submit your project work on Monday 8.4. at 12.00 the latest - THIS IS COMPULSORY - max 6 points.

    -Take the exam - max 24 points. (The course examination is on Thursday 11.4.)

    -Submit your homework exercises on time - not compulsory, but highly recommended - max 3 points.  When exercises are graded, you receive 0, 1 or 2 points from every submitted solution. You can calculate your final exercise points by dividing all the points by six and rounding it to the closest integer. Thus you can obtain max round((10*2)/6)=round(3.3)=3 points.

    -Participate to weekly exercises (group 1, group 2, group 3 OR group 4) - not compulsory, but highly recommended - max 3 points. You get attendance points for attending the first 10 exercise sessions. You can calculate your final attendance points by dividing the number of times you attended by three and rounding it to the closest integer. Thus you can obtain max round(10/3)=round(3.3)=3 points. Exercise session 11 is reserved for the project work and for summarizing the contents of the course. Attending the last exercise session is also highly recommended!

    Max total points = 6 + 24 + 3 + 3 = 36: You need at least 16 points in order to pass the course.

    Grading is based on the total points as follows: 16p -> 1, 20p -> 2, 24p -> 3, 28p -> 4, 32p -> 5.

    About the exam: In the exam you may have your pens and pencils, a ruler and an eraser. On top of that you may have one A4 of notes. The rules for the note are: size A4, text on one side only, it must be hand-written, your name has to be on the top right corner of the note. Other materials, such as calculators or formulae books, are not allowed in the exam. Please take an id-card with you to the exam. The exam organizers do not know you.

    How to get a bad grade:

    Be sloppy in your project work.

    Attend the exercises, but use the time for facebooking.

    Do not even try to do your homework exercises yourself - instead - copy from your friends.

    Do not attend the lectures - and if you do - use the time for facebooking.

    If something is not clear, do not even think about asking about it.

    Do not read the lecture slides.

    Make sure not to study for the exam.
