Topic outline

  • This week we are going to explore different 2D and 3D software to understand possibilities and limitations. Focus on parametric CAD software such as FreeCAD is recommended, but exploring other software is needed to be able to compare.

As a practical outcome you should model (raster, vector, 2D, 3D, render, animate, simulate, ...) a possible final project, compress your images and videos, and post it on your class page

    Learning Outcomes

    • Evaluate and select 2D and 3D software.
    • Demonstrate and describe processes used in modelling with 2D and 3D software.

    Learning Materials

    • Global lecture: Wed 03 Feb 16:00 (slides, video)
    • Local lecture: Thu 04 Feb 15:00 (slides, video)

All lectures online. Consult General Information section for video call links.

    FAQ

Is it compulsory to do parametric design this week?
No, but it is in computer controlled cutting. So it is a good idea to start learning now.
