Topic outline

  • The following courses from DoD MA Joint Studies are recommended to be completed before:
    - MUO-E0002 Design Research (including the remote path) 2 ECTS or MUO-E0021 Design Research (including the DIY version) 3 ECTS
    - MUO-E0011 Thesis Plan Orientation (including the DIY version) 2 ECTS or MUO-E0023 Thesis Plan Orientation (including the DIY version) 3 ECTS
    *Note: "Thesis Plan Orientation“ replaces "Thesis Seminar” and is enough to complete one.

    Your thesis plan proposal requires to be presented and approved by your study program. It is about 5 pages long. You can use the template below. (The template is meant to be used for the final thesis plan and covers much more than the listed matters below.)

    Thesis Plan Proposal includes:

    • your topic area;
    • preliminary research question;
    • first ideas whether you are focusing on creating knowledge on the topic or design outcomes; and
    • the types of activities for data collection and/or design processes.

    A thesis plan template by the Department of Design is available (LINK) as a guideline while formulating your thesis plan.

    You can also see the Department of Design MA Thesis Portal / Pre-Thesis for all further resources and information for developing your thesis.

    When you have presented your thesis plan proposal, you may move forward to THESIS: PART 1.
