  • Junction Leadership Experience -course have three different levels - one, three or five credits. All versions are based on investigation and reflection on personal experiences and perceptions as a group or team lead in Junction community and event. The basic difference between the course versions is the depth and breadth of reflection. In three and five credit versions there are also relevant research articles to be reviewed and utilized in reflection. The requirements are presented in the following section:

    One Credit (1 cr)

    • participation to at least three Junction Leadership Experience workshops
    • taking notes and recording the key experiences during  the preparation and the Junction event and community
    • asking feedback from team members
    • writing a reflective summary (2-3 pages) of the personal leaderhship experience 

    Three Credits (3 cr)
    • participation to at least three Junction Leadership Experience workshops
    • taking notes and recording the key experiences during  the preparation and in the Junction event and community
    • asking feedback from team members
    • writing three essays on team leadership, team building, leadership experiences, and reflection on the whole journey
    • review of three articles - on voluntary motivation, on situational leadership, and one on general leadership
    • participation to peer-reflection process - three meetings

    Five Credit (5 cr)
    • participation to at least three Junction Leadership Experience workshops
    • participation to an additional workshop for 5 credit participants (December)
    • taking notes and recording the key experiences during  the preparation and in the Junction event and community as a whole
    • asking feedback from team members
    • writing three essays on team leadership, team building, leadership experiences, and reflection on the whole journey
    • review of six articles - on voluntary motivation, team building, situational leadership, and two on generic leadership
    • participation to peer-reflection process - three meetings
    • group assignment on strategic perspectives of Junction movement

    The article reviews are integrated to the different essays and assignments. The purpose is that the essays will be written between the workshops. The assignments and readings are planned to support each preparation phase, and give opportunity to think own assumptions, plans, and experiences more profoundly.
