    In this section we will look broadly at the language you need to  sound academic and authoritative in your academic writing. In academic English your language choices are key to creating texts that are coherent (i.e. logical and make sense) and cohesive (i.e.the ideas fit together well).  From the words in the title itself to the last sentence of your final conclusion, your word choices will mark you out as either a successful language user in control of your subject or a student lost at sea!
