Topic outline

  • CS-E3900 - USchool Intro: Home Page

Due to overlapping courses, the lectures/events are rescheduled to take place on Fridays 14-16!

This course is targeted for students of USchool minor at Aalto and University of Helsinki. It takes place as a set of lectures/visits and online events to the three organizing units/departments (Aalto SCI, Aalto ARTS, UH Cognitive Science).

After the completion of the course, the students understand a) the foundations and scope of human-centred design, and b) the need for and practices in multidisciplinary design. Furthermore, the intent is to get familiar with other students and teachers from the participating universities/disciplines.

Participation to all lectures/visits is mandatory. Passing the course requires participation at the lectures and completion of the group assigments including the presentation of the group work results.

Due to the still somewhat remaining covid-19 situation in autumn 2021, many of the events are arranged online.

Cross-university access to the online learning systems is a tiny challenge and may take some time for the new students. Therefore, we aim at keeping the participation to the initial events as openly available as possible.
