In-class GROUP exercise: Sport Ober and production quantities File XLSX
Work in group in breakout room to develop production sequence and quantities for initial production order (total of 10k units to be ordered)
Document your results together in Excel/Powerpoint and be ready to share your group's thinking.
Assignment instructions:
- First discuss the different group participants solutions and thoughts on initial production commitment?
- What different solution methods did you use? Discuss the logics and assumptions you used.
- Next download the "Sport Ober Analysis Student" excel-sheet below
- Working on the spreadsheet and using the "Non-constrained single z0", find a z-value that you would use to set order quantity for all products (Assuming no MOQ:s, same price for all products, and first commitment needs to be 10k)
- Create a risk based sequencing method to find products for the speculative production (10k initial production commitment)
- You can use the "Constrained Students m=600" sheet for testing and as a template, but you can also create your own sheet and version of the analysis
- Device a risk factor measure for product prioritization
- Decide products to be produced
- Decide production quantities
- Which products you decided to produce? (Seduced, Assault, Anita, Electra, Daphne, Stephanie, Teri, Isis, Gail)
- How much was your speculative production quantity Q0 for Seduced?
- Explain and reflect your logic: is this a good solution, are there still some factors that are not accounted for?
