Bonus points for helpful activity
For providing corrections to the course materials (lecture notes and exercise sets) or for other generally helpful activities (including particularly helpful questions, answers, comments, or corrections during the lectures or in the course's Zulip chat), we may award bonus points that can compensate for some exercises. The preferred way to post corrections about the materials is via the Zulip chat's #materials stream. The policy for the bonus points is:- If a correction or comment made by a student is (mathematically) significant by my judgement, I will note it for bonuses. For each mistake to be corrected, only the first student to point it out is awarded the bonus.
- To compensate for one exercise, one significant correction suffices. Subsequent compensations for the same student require more corrections per compensation: the compensation of the n:th exercise requires n new corrections, i.e., the total amount of corrections required for n compensated exercises is n2+n2.
- The maximum total exercise score in the course cannot be exceeded.
We prefer helpful comments in the public streams of the Zulip chat or during the lectures, so that all students can benefit from them!
Submitting solutions
Solutions to the three weekly homework problems and two weekly fill-in-the-blanks problems are submitted by Tuesday at 23:59 (the week following the corresponding exercise class). Solutions should be submitted as one pdf-file in the corresponding folder below.(If you don't want to create separate pdf files for each solution, you can submit a file with many solutions in all the corresponding problem folders.)(To create a pdf to upload, you can for example use one of the many scanner apps for smartphones to create a pdf from your hand-written solution.)
