  Graduation procedure

  The following steps must be taken to finalize your thesis and graduate:

  1. Abstract - Write the abstract of the thesis. The abstract template is already incorporated into the thesis template. As of 1.8.2020 abstract replaces maturity test.
     
  2. Turnitin - Before submitting your thesis for final review/evaluation, check it with turnitin (here) for any possible trouble with unclear citation etc.
     
  3. Submit - Get a permission from your supervisor to hand in your thesis, and submit it HERE. Enroll to the MyCourses workspace, click on "Master's thesis submission" and follow the instructions to the letter. The PDF/A conversion can be tricky on some systems but this can often be solved by saving the thesis first as PDF and then converting it into PDF/A. NOTE: on the "Master's thesis submission" page there is a dropdown menu for "Visible groups". This is a remnant from an older system and has no effect whatsoever. No need to change the default selection. The PDF/A is also submitted to the Learning Center’s archives trhough eAGE.
     
  4. Diploma - Order your diploma the same day you upload your thesis to MyCourses for evaluation! If you have some courses left after returning the thesis, don't order the diploma yet. REQUEST GRADUATION IN SISU. More instructions on use of SISU are available here.
     
  5. Your thesis will then be graded according to the rubric.
  6. The grades will then be registered.
     

  After these steps, you may proceed with your graduation as described in the instructions on the page above.

  • Make sure that your HOPS/PSP is up to date and approved by the study coordinator. Your degree diploma will be formed according to your PSP so be sure to choose the courses in your PSP you want to have in your degree diploma.
  • Your IT access rights will be active until the end of the autumn or spring term, depending on when you graduate. If you have a justified reason why you should be allowed more time to extract all your files and important emails, please send a free-form application to sisu help desk.
