    1. Mitä kuuluu tänään?
    2. Missä sinä olet nyt?
    3. Millainen ilma tänään on?
    4. Mikä kuukausi on nyt?

    6. Sinulla on syntymäpäivä. Mitä teet? Järjestätkö juhlat?

    9. Miten voit tänään? (= How are you feeling today)?
    10. Sinulla on flunssa. Mitä sinun täytyy tehdä?

    B. Kieloppi. Verbityypit 3 ja 4 ja kpt-vaihtelu

    Read and translate the dialogue on page 157. Then look at the verbs kuunnella and tavata together. What do you notice about the kpt-changes?

    Look at the verbs pelätä, maata and juosta. What kind of kpt-change happens here?

    Conjugate the verbs tykätä and ajatella together. These verbs behave in the same way as the ones on page 157: the infinitive is weak and the conjugations in the present tense are strong.

    • If tykätä is the weak form (one k), what is the strong form?
    • If ajatella is the weak form (one t), what is the strong form?

    We will be conjugating these together in the main session, so you’ll see if you got it right!

    = Choose a word on the list and explain the meaning in Finnish. The others in the group guess which word you chose.

    1. Yllätys = surprise
    2. Juhlat = party, celebration
    3. Yllätysjuhlat = suprise party
    4. Täyttää kolkyt vuotta = to turn thirty
    5. Järjestää juhlat = organize a party
    6. Kahvilassa = in a café
    7. Juhlapaikka = venue or place for the party
    8. Vuokrata = to rent
    9. Onnistuisko se? = Would that be possible?
    10. Vapaa (partitiivi: vapaata) = available, free
    11. Ruoka = food
    12. Kutsu = invitation
