    Welcome to Principles of General and Organic Chemistry! This MyCourses workspace is important for the course as most of the activities happen through this. It is also an essential channel of information.

    The learning process in this course will be facilitated by different activities:

    1. Lessons on MyCourses: To get familiar with the topic and theoretical frame. Ten lessons altogether, open throughout the course. Done individually and graded, up to 10 course points.
    2. Learning sessions onsite in Undergraduate centre: Deepen your learning. Prepare for the learning session by doing the related Lesson. Two 75-min learning sessions per week, on Tuesdays and Fridays. Not lectures but a brief summary on the topic, activities and discussions. Points are awarded on individually done MyCourses quizzes, see Section "Learning sessions" for details. Up to 10 course points.
    3. Excercises on MyCourses and exercise sessions: Weekly exercises on chemical problems, mainly calculations. Support session with teachers available at Undergraduate center lecture hall C (C-sali) on Thursdays. The solutions are submitted individually online, graded up to 20 course points.
    4. *Lab work in CHEM student lab: One lab exercise done as pair work, starting from the third week. Passed Lab safety course CHEM-E0140 required to enter the lab! You will write a brief report. Please see detailed instructions at *Lab work section. Graded up to 10 course points.
    5. *Exam on MyCourses (mandatory): Digital exam October 17 at 9 am-12 pm, done individually. Graded up to 50 course points. Exam pass threshold 10/50 course points.
