    • Eager to get started?

      • In case you want additional material to learn about wood material science, a useful source would be the book “Timber, its nature and behaviour” by Dinwoodie, J. M. (excluding chapter 9: Processing of Timber). The book covers similar topics as the course, but is only supplementary and not compulsory to pass the course. In case you don't have a hard copy, it's also available as e-book in Aalto Primo.

      • The course is based on independent learning and gives a chance to practice independent time-management. Here are some tips for success which you might take a look already before the start of the course!

      • Don't hesitate to ask! (email works well)
      • Make notes while studying the material
      • Read and watch videos more than once
      • PC/laptop is recommended for the MyCourses platform (cell phone, or other smaller screens might not be optimal)
      • Close extra tabs when making the online exams (to avoid any technical interruptions)
      • Using AI-tools during the exams does not serve any purpose in your learning and therefore their use is forbidden
