Welcome to Emerging Designs 2023 course. This year, like a few times before, the area of interest for the project work on the course is healthcare. We have multiple guest presenters who work in various roles in design for healthcare, in research or development. They contextualize the findings the students make during their own projects. As in ED course earlier, the project assignment's role is to provide a motivating learning context. The key learnings happen via reflecting some literature and lecture materials, and the team project work. To ensure structured mode of reflection, the essay at the end of the course impacts grading quite a bit. As a token of gratitude, I promise to share constructive written feedback to all to further enable the reflection on action by the student.
Practicalities: Schedule for the course is shown below as a Google Sheet. It slightly changes as some needs may, well, emerge, pending on the track the projects take.
