The course consists of students' individual design project, lectures, workshops and dialogue with tutors. Students are introduced to methods of innovative garment shaping and advanced 3D experimentation. They are challenged to reconsider the shaping and structuring of garments and to develop an alternative approach as a base for their personal design project. The course familiarizes students with how emerging technologies, materiality as well as the use of digital tools and spaces may impact and benefit their design practice. The course includes an option to study basics of Clo3D software.
After successful completion of the course, you'll be able to:
-reconsider conventional approaches to fashion design and define alternative paths, especially in the shaping and structuring of garments
-identify how to benefit from emerging technologies and materiality
-integrate strategic experimentation and advanced prototyping methods in their design process
