Topic outline

  • This course has been designed to reflect on your own strengths and development targets as a learner and student. I hope you have a better picture of yourself and your skills and the things you could develop within yourself.

Remember, competence consists of everything you are familiar with in your studies, work, internships, projects, organization, volunteering, hobbies or positions of trust. Knowledge is everything that you have gained from experience or theoretical understanding and that you have a good command of. For example, scouting or sporting activities can lead to significant team leadership skills.

Transferable skills are general working skills that accumulate and develop in higher education, working life and other areas of life. Examples of transferable skills are teamwork, communication, problem solving and time use. The first time you apply for a job in your field, these common working skills may be the reason why you are selected. Think broadly, not just what you learn through your major.

Remember: trusting with your own knowledge is more important than mere knowledge. Investing in confidence is important!
