  • Course Home

The course will start with a lecture on Monday the 2nd of September at 14:15 (K1 326). Welcome!

The teaching on the course consists of contact teaching lectures, video teaching material, and live exercise sessions.

Students are expected to know basics of Python programming language, since the course exercises are implemented in Python.

Most teaching material is pre-recorded and reused from previous iterations of the course, so some course-related information (e.g. timetables) may be presented incorrectly in the videos. In case of conflict, always trust written content over recorded video content. If you find conflicting information in the videos, please report it to us so we can try to edit them accordingly.

If you have any questions or comments, please use Teams to do so. Group chats should be used whenever the question doesn't contain any personal information.

You are free to ask exercise-related questions in the appropriate Teams channel. TAs will try to answer your questions during the weekdays whenever they have an opportunity. However, please keep in mind that you are only guaranteed an answer during the exercise sessions.

    • Online Discussion Forum

All course discussions are carried out in Teams (enrollment key will be provided when you have completed the Pre-course Questionnaire).

    • Course Schedule

The course is designed so that it can be completed independently. There are no mandatory participation requirements to lectures or exercise help sessions. Feel free to watch teaching videos ahead of time and move to next week's material if you wish at any point. However, note that the exercises and quizzes have weekly deadlines. These deadlines must be followed, and late submissions are subject to a -50% penalty.

The lectures are organized as live contact teaching. Participation at the first lecture is strongly recommended to understand the course practicalities. The lectures provide more general knowledge related to automated and intelligent vehicle technologies, as well as provide an opportunity for Q&A. We will also arrange some activities related to autonomous driving research carried out at Aalto.

      Every week, there will be
      1. Lecture (Mondays 14:15-16:00) [Live @ K1 326]
      2. Teaching Videos (Independent study)
      3. Weekly Quiz (Independent study)
      4. Exercise Help Session (Thursdays 12:15-14:00) [Live @ R001/U351]
      5. Exercise and Quiz Deadline (Sundays 23:59)
There will be five consecutive weeks like this, followed by a week of independent project work, which will be presented at the end of the course in a "mini-gala" (on Thursday 17.10. 9:00-12:00 @ U7 PWC - U135a).

Project work Deadline: Sunday 13.10. 23:59!
