LEARNING OUTCOMES

The workshop deepens and strengthens the students' personal approach, visual thinking, and technical skills.The learning outcomes vary and are related to each workshop and they will be described in detail in the course description of each study event.

On a successful completion of the course, students

- have learned and are able to present & share ideas, skills and practices related to the working processes studied in the workshop

- are able to apply their new skills and practices to their own work

- can contextualize the methodological approach of the workshop into the wider field of contemporary photography and dialogically assess their own practice in that frame.

CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    Personal work and group work in the guidance of the teacher of the workshop.

  • Applies in this implementation:

    Course content: Fine art printing workshop covers the basics of digital fine art inkjet printing.

    Learning Outcomes: The purpose of this course is to familiarize students on production of a portfolio of images with digital fine art printing methods. Subject of this course is to examine relationships of technical and artistic choices, materials, techniques and workflow options. 

    Aim is to produce a series of fine art quality inkjet prints. Which are presented as artist portfolio.      

    Prerequisites: 

    • It is required to have existing basic skills of Adobe Photoshop software.
    • Participant needs to have own photographic material(files).
    • Image files: Digital negatives(Raw files).
    • Or film material scanned to 3f format. 



Assessment Methods and Criteria
  • Valid 01.08.2020-31.07.2022:

    Typical ways of working are lectures, group discussions and hands-on work and practice. Methods vary from workshop to workshop.

  • Applies in this implementation:

    The course is evaluated as pass/fail.

    The student will pass the course by 

    1) active participation in (minimum 80% of) the course meetings and 

    2) completing all assignments.

  • Applies in this implementation:

    2 ects equals a total of 54 hours of students’ work. The total hours are divided into lectures, teaching and students' work time on assignments.

    Workshops require knowledge of techniques and expression, that will be announced by the teacher.

    This is hands-on course where you edit your own images, print your images from start to finish.

    Process Workshop is a course with varying content. Course periods and content varies yearly.

    Due to time reserved for course work (5 days). You need to have image files with you day one. 

    Working in It-studio requires to have external harddrive/memory device where you store your big working files.

    This is hands-on course where you edit your own images, print your images from start to finish.
